Should I cover my air conditioner in the winter?
It only makes sense to protect your air conditioner with a proper, long lasting, full length custom made air conditioner cover. Some say that manufacturers of air conditioner units that covering the units is not necessary. These are the same people that earn money selling new and expensive air conditioner units and/or repair them.
We have over 17 years of HVAC system design and installation experience and over 24 years of manufacturing proper air conditioner covers for all brands and models of air conditioners. There are a lot of things that can go wrong with air conditioner units when it’s left unprotected in the outdoor elements. The coils in the air conditioner are designed for a certain efficiency level and as they get dirty or the cooling “fins” become smashed, bent or covered in dust, dirt and other debris your air conditioner unit will begin to lose its efficiency and may not cool your home as well or at least as inexpensively as it once did when brand new. The longer and harder your unit has to work to cool your home, the more electricity you use, the more expensive it is to run it. It is very important to keep your outside air conditioner coils free of as much dust, dirt, leaves, bugs, small animals and other outside yard debris as you can.
Outdoor air conditioner covers will protect your outdoor air conditioner condenser for a good 5 to 6 months during the Fall and Winter and prevent just about anything from getting into your AC unit and disturbing the coils and operating system. It also means that your AC unit will most likely avoid getting large amounts of snow and ice in your air conditioner, which could severely damage the coils, cooling “fins” and internal operating system. Remember: water expands when it freezes, so water or snow on the coils and other internal connecting parts during the day could quickly turn to ice that night. The air conditioner cover needs to be made out of a high quality, long lasting breathable material so that condensation does not build up causing further problems.

How do your air conditioner covers prevent condensation?

It is our recommendation that air conditioner units need a full length, quality long lasting cover. These covers should not be made out of plastic or vinyl or any other material that will hold in condensation.
Some manufacturers of air conditioner covers have a small “vent” area but that won’t properly allow for condensation to escape and can damage the coils and operating system.

What about the electrical wires and refrigerant lines on the back of my air conditioner unit?

The air conditioner cover is quickly installed with a strong, wind resistant secure fit. Has rope tie sewn into the bottom hem to secure the bottom of the protective cover completely around the unit base. Measuring & Ordering Instructions
Provide the outdoor air conditioner unit measurements of Width x Depth x Height (in inches) or the Diameter x Height for round air conditioners and we will manufacture a full length custom made air conditioner cover based on your unit dimensions. As an added feature we add extra material to certain measurements you provide us to compensate for any possible shrinkage over time.
Need a split or cutout for refrigerant or electrical lines? No problem.
We will place a split with Velcro closure or a cutout where you need it. Installation and orientation of air conditioner condensers is different. In most cases the front of your outdoor air conditioner unit is the side facing away from the side of the house. If you need a split corner or cutout for refrigerant lines and electric lines, tell us where you want a split with Velcro closure or cutout as you face the front of the outdoor unit. Again, we can place a cutout for refrigerant lines and electrical where needed. Provide us with instructions with special cutout locations within your order.
You can also email or call us and we will make sure you have the refrigerant tubing and electrical line split corner (with commercial Velcro) or cutout where and how you want it.
Once you place your order for an air conditioner cover we will do a drawing for your review if the split or cutout that is needed is located other than a corner.

FAQ Do you make other protective covers?
Yes we do! Our philosophy is that any expensive piece of outdoor equipment or furniture needs to be covered and protected against the outdoor elements. You need to protect your investment with a proper cover that will breathe and not promote condensation that will create rust or mildew.
