Our son Captain Brandon McKinnon, Security Forces United States Air Force receives the Bronze Star medal upon arrival into the United States from his second tour in Iraq. Brandon was awarded the Bronze Star medal for meritorious service. The explanation in part for being awarded the Bronze Star medal included sustaining rocket and mortar fire attacks and capturing an enemy insurgent. Commanding over 600 troops with over 2,000 missions outside the wire which represented 25% more outside the wire missions than other commanders previous to his command. Brandon is also a Ranger and Airborne qualified.
